On 17 August 2006, Java was hit by tsunami again. In less than a year, this natural calamity has claimed another 300 innocent lifes. Amidst claims that the countries in the Pacific have teamed up to sound emergency alarms should there by a possible danger of tsunami when the crater shakes. Amidst news that various countries actually held emergency drills three months ago, to educate their civilians of how to escape when a tsunami strikes.
It's ironical how life can get. Just when we thought that such unnecessary casualties can be prevented, it strikes again. And this time, it happened again because the Indonesian authorities withheld the need to inform the civilians of the possible tsunami after the earthquake happened.
"We have indeed received the warning from the Japanese meteorological unit.....telling us of the quake. But what happens if we inform the public and there is no tsunami?" An Indonesian officer was quoted.
Stupidity.
Ignorance.

so.. wait till the tsunami comes then inform them?? hahaha.. so cute hor that officer...
maybe he doesn't understand how serious it is since he has never hit by one..sigh..very selfish thought and remark...
